Julynne Spidell finished third at the Logansport Regional meet in a time of 19:29.
Julynne put herself in a good position early in the race and finished the last mile very strong coming out of the hilly second mile in the “Berry Patch”. She ran a smart race and finished as a top 10 individual runner to advance to the New Prairie Semi-State meet next Saturday.
This meet put her in a great position to compete for one of the top 10 spots next week to advance to the state meet. This has been a goal of hers since she started running in high school and it is nice to see the hard work paying off. This week will be important for her mentally and physically as she will need to peak for this race to be able to advance to the I.H.S.A.A. State meet.

Semi-State Results from October 24th, 2020
The Kokomo girls’ cross country team had jun ior Julynne Spidell finish her season at the New Prairie semi-state meet on Saturday. Julynne finished in 26th place with a time of 20:03. This is not how we envisioned the season ending for her, but she had a fantastic season full of amazing performances and wonderful memories.
Julynne will still have next season to hopefully punch her ticket to the I.H.S.A.A. State Meet. This must motivate her to continue working hard over the winter and have a really strong track season. She must continue to train smart and run competitive road races over this winter, and could really make some huge improvements for this upcoming track season and set a few school records. I am looking forward to seeing how much she improves over this winter.
