The Lady Kats participated in our own 97th Kokomo Relays. The Lady Kats finished sixth out of eight teams with 47 points.

Individually the Kats were paced by Julynne Spidell with a first place finish in the 3200. Julynne ran a very smart race using the windy conditions to her advantage as she ran one second within her personal best time.

The Lady Kats also received a good individual performance from Brita Peerna with a fourth place finish in the long jump. Other individual scores were as follows: Jillian Braswell, seventh place finish in the 1000-yard run, and Keihera Lang and Abby Hansen, who tied for fourth place in the high jump.

The relay teams were led by the distance medley team of Mia Castillo, Hansen, Peerna, and Spidell. The distance medley relay team recorded a second place finish anchored by Spidell, who passed two teams to claim a second place medal.

Other relay teams found success as well:

4×100 Relay: 4th place, Omarea Daniels, Castillo, Peerna, Lang

Sprint Medley Relay: 4th Place, Peerna, Daniels, Castillo, Hansen

Medley Relay: 6th place, Lindley Abney, Emma Nelson, Sophia Justice,
Rebecca Stillwell

The ladies ran exceptionally well on a great day at Walter Cross Field. We are continuing to show improvement as we gear up for the NCC Conference Meet in Lafayette on Friday.
