The Kats entered a hostile environment when facing #3 North Central High School last night. The boys would continue some of their outstanding, energetic singles play in pushing North Central to the limits. At one point early in the match we found ourselves winning all three singles matches and we could see the worry in their coach’s eyes.
The Kats battled, but ended up getting beat by the score of 4-1.
The lone varsity winner on the night was Taylor Duncan at #2 singles. Taylor continued his smart, steady and athletic play in a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Another bright spot was Ty Lauderbaugh’s three-set match. Ty lost by the score of 3-6, 6-4, 10-5. Since the team match had been decided (3-1) a tie breaker was played in lieu of the third. I can’t help but think this worked to Ty’s disadvantage.
The JV lost by the score of 17-2. Winners on the night included C.J. Washburn, Ari Leger, Austin Ferraro, and Sean Kursinsky.
The varsity moved to 6-3 on the season and the JV 7-2.
