The Katfish finished in sixth out of nine teams at the NCC meet on Saturday. If we had all of our swimmers, I believe we would have jumped up to third or fourth.

Even though we were missing nearly half of the team, the ones who were able to attend came to compete.

The boys were led by Elkin, who won the diving portion of the meet by over 40 points. Isaac defended his 2019-2020 title and performed very well considering he also had three swimming events.

Pitner had two runner-up finishes in the 50 and 100 free, both of which were season best times.

Other Top 16 finishers and point scorers for the Katfish were Gabe Booher in the 200 free and 100 breaststroke, Elkin in the 100 breaststroke, Clayton Hall in the 500 free and 100 back, Talon Hawkins in the 200 free and 500 free, Cameron Harris in diving, Hillman in the 200 IM and 100 fly, and Jay in the 200 free and 500 free.

Eighteen out of the 24 individual swims were lifetime bests, and I couldn’t be happier with how the boys performed.

The boys have a busy January that continues this week with a meet against Lewis Cass on Tuesday and Oak Hill on Thursday.
