The Wildkats traveled to the Tippecanoe Amphit heater on Saturday to com pete in the Harrison Invite.
The Kats ended up placing 11thout of 16 teams in the orange division, but that doesn’t tell the whole story of our day. Our Kat runners raced very well as we had eight runners set either career or season personal best.
We were led by Bryan Stoltzfus, who placed 18thwith a PR time of 17:57. This was a big result for Bryan as he finally broke 18 minutes for the 5k.
Junior Collin Keesling came in right behind Bryan as he ran an 18:02, which was a PR, and placed 23rd. Wilmer Corrales dropped 48 seconds off of his PR as he ran a 19:52, while Noah Thompson dropped almost a full minute as raced to a 20:38. Zavian Clark dropped 2 minutes off of his personal best as he ran a 22:46, and Adam Kemper shaved almost 50 seconds off his best as he ran a 26:04.
We also want to give a shout out to Nathan Conner as he raced for the first time all year and ran a 23:47. Travarion Corbin and Isaac Elkin both achieved season personal bests with times of 20:55 and 21:02, respectively.
Overall we competed very well and the runners are starting to see all the work they have been doing pay some dividends. We still have a long way to go, but we know what we have to work on to keep improving.
Our next chance to improve is this upcoming Saturday as we head to Indiana Wesleyan in Marion to partake in the Wildcat Classic.
