The Kats lost their season opener to Lafayette Harrison 4-2 on Tuesday. The Kats got down 4-0 after giving up two runs in the second inning and two more in the fifth.

The pitching was excellent, but some untimely errors in the field led to three of the four runs being unearned. The Kats rallied in the seventh to score two runs but were not able to get the big hit when it was needed.

Caydan Belt got the start on the mound and threw five good innings giving up three hits and striking out three. Patrick Hardimon came on in the sixth to pitch two good innings giving up just one hit and striking out two.

At the plate, Taylor Duncan, Jaden Armfield, Caydan Belt, and Jacob Walker got one hit apiece. Duncan and Walker each had an RBI.
