The Kokomo boys’ cross-country team also competed at Culver Academies, finishing 21st out of 25 teams. With five of the seven varsity runners being sophomores or freshmen, the meet provided valuable experience for the program’s future. Despite missing three of their top seven—including their top two runners—due to illness and rest, the young squad showed grit and determination against a strong field. Senior Ben Wallace led the Kats with a time of 19:05, followed closely by sophomore Reece Wright in 19:17. Even with slower times and a short-handed lineup, the boys battled hard and gained confidence heading into championship season. This race served as the team’s final tune-up before the North Central Conference (NCC) meet at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, and the group remains mentally focused and physically ready for Saturday’s challenge.
