he Kokomo boys cross country team turned in a solid performance on Saturday, placing 7th overall at the competitive Flashrock Invitational. Despite the heat and demanding hills, the Wildkats showed grit and determination throughout the race. Senior Preston Arreola paced the team with an impressive 5th-place finish, while fellow senior Ben Wallace also claimed a top-20 medal, crossing the line in 20th place. Both leaders set the tone with their strong efforts against a tough field. The Kats also celebrated a breakthrough from freshman Tanner Workman, who recorded a personal best of 20:42 in his first varsity race of the season, showing promise for the future. With a good week of training ahead, Kokomo will look to build on this momentum as they head to the Culver Invitational this upcoming Saturday.
