The Kokomo Lady Kats took the field Thursday evening in a spirited matchup against the Red Devils. From the opening whistle, the game was a back-and-forth battle, with much of the action fought in the middle third of the field. Midway through the first half, the Lady Kats struck first. In the 20th minute, Mattie Rayl made a strong push down the right side and delivered a well-placed pass to Gisella Herrera, who finished with precision to give Kokomo the lead. The Red Devils responded quickly, however, evening the score just minutes later. The first half closed with the teams locked in a 1–1 tie. As the second half unfolded, tensions rose with both teams fighting to gain the edge. While the Lady Kats created opportunities, the Red Devils capitalized on their chances and managed to score three more times before the final whistle. Despite the result, Kokomo had standout performances on the defensive side of the field. Freshman Karla Gilar impressed with her tenacity and composure, while Izzy Riggs anchored the back line. Goalkeeper Aiyona Cox also turned in a strong showing with several key saves to keep the Lady Kats in contention. The Lady Kats continue to show growth and resilience as they prepare for their upcoming conference matchup on Saturday at Richmond.
