Lady Kats Battle Hard Against Lady Broncos

By Elizabeth Rayl | Sep 3, 2025 5:32 AM

The Lady Kats traveled Tuesday night to take on the Lady Broncos in a tough away matchup, ultimately falling 3–0 to a disciplined and well-oiled opponent. The first half proved to be a defensive grind for the Kats, with much of the play taking place in their own half. Time and time again, the back line and goalkeeper Aiyana Cox rose to the challenge. Cox, who had a phenomenal game between the posts, came up with countless saves to keep her team in the match. Despite her efforts, the Broncos found the back of the net twice before halftime, taking a 2–0 lead into the break. After regrouping, the Lady Kats came out stronger in the second half. The midfield began to take control, creating more possession and building opportunities forward. With more movement through the center of the field, Kokomo managed several promising looks on goal, forcing the Broncos’ defense to stay alert. While the Broncos added one more score in the final half, the Lady Kats never backed down, fighting until the final whistle. Player of the Game honors go to Cox, whose fierce, relentless spirit and determination in goal anchored the Kats all night. Her effort embodied the team’s resilience as they continued to adjust, compete, and grow together. The Lady Kats return to action Thursday at home, hosting Pike in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
