The girls had a great showing at Round Barn on Saturday, using course management to play the course with lots of water, wasteland, sand, and a large creek running through it. There are spots where you have to lay up to get to an elevated green over a creek, spots where even though its a par 5 that a driver isn't the best decision due to water on one side and out of bounds trees on the other. I watched the girls play very strategically and was very proud of their scores, having only been in away matches 2 times this season. We were also lucky enough to have 7 of the girls play 18 due to illness or other teams not being full. The 2 girls played as individuals and did very well. Mia had 2 birdies, Emily chipped in from 60 yards for her first birdie of the season, Kate was able to get in her first 18 as a high school golfer, and we had several pars as well! I continue to be amazed by the perseverance of the girls as they strive to improve each and every time they play. This week we are at Northwestern (Green Acres) on Wednesday and face a tough Battle Ground in the Lafayette Jefferson Invite on Saturday morning!
