The Kokomo boys cross-country team turned in a strong performance at the Taylor University Invitational on Saturday, finishing 8th out of 20 teams. It was a standout day for the Wildkats as 13 of the team’s 15 runners recorded personal bests. Senior Cooper Cage led the way with an outstanding race, placing 7th overall in the field with a PR time of 16:05. His effort not only secured a top-10 finish but also moved him up to 4th all-time in Kokomo program history. Senior Preston Arreola followed with a big breakthrough, running a PR of 16:53, while senior Ben Wallace added another PR, clocking 17:36 to help pace the Kats. The rest of the varsity lineup also came through with strong improvements. Owen Downing (19:11), Leo Serra (19:15), and Henry King-Brown (20:08) each recorded big personal bests to round out the scoring group. Several other Wildkats had career-best performances as well: Tanner Workman (21:25), Phenix Bray (21:35), Monte Bunn (21:47), Ethan Lytle (21:55), Gaius Cooper (23:09), Tyler Anderson (23:41), and Joey Randolph (23:52). With so many personal bests and a top-half team finish, the Wildkats showed both depth and momentum as they continue their season. Kokomo is back in action next Saturday at the Brownsburg Invitational. Coach Ousley
