Kokomo Tennis vs #20 William Henry Harrison High School-Lafayette (3 - 2) Win Caleb Taflinger- ​L ​6-7(5-7), 6-3, 10-3 Micah Taflinger- ​L 7-5, 6-3 Mitch McClelland- W 6-​0, 4-6, 6-3 Blake/Mayfield- W 6-​2, 4-6, 6-3 Moos/McClain- ​W 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 ​Kats had another fun night of tennis. We had a lot of firsts since I have been coach. This is the first time we have beat a ranked opponent. This is the first time we have won a match while losing #1 & #2 singles points. It also the first time we have won a match with every point coming from a three set win. We started off well and then our entire team lost their 2nd set. We fought, battled and played great in the third sets. Our depth is getting stronger and we need each point ready by the end of the year. Harrison has tremendous singles players at their top and both Caleb and Micah played outstanding all night. Steady Mitch just continues to fight and wear down opponents. I was very pleased with our doubles teams. They played aggressive, bounced back after bad points and hit some very big, smart shots. Both combinations are new, and I hope they continue to improve and grow as the season goes. This match could have gone either way and it was really fun watching our guys get three points for the win.
