Kats Fall to Peru in Sectional Battle The Kokomo Boys Volleyball team closed out their season last night with a 0–3 loss to Peru (17–25, 22–25, 23–25) in the sectional match, but the scoreboard doesn’t tell the full story. From the opening serve to the final point, the Kats played some of their best, most competitive volleyball of the season. Each set showed our grit, hustle, and how far this program has come. Kyle Kewley led the offense with an impressive 17 kills, while Sean McCormick added 9 of his own. As a team, Kokomo tallied 6 aces on the night. Though digs weren’t officially recorded, North Muannara continued to be a steady force in serve receive and defense, just as he has been for the past two seasons as a foundation of this young program. Building from the ground up comes with its challenges, and this season brought plenty of growing pains. But it also brought tremendous growth, resilience, and team chemistry. I am incredibly proud of the strides made this year and the heart this team showed every time they stepped on the court. To our three seniors — thank you. Your leadership, dedication, and love for this game have left a lasting impact, and you’ll always be part of the foundation we’re building on.
