Varsity vs Mississinewa Kokomo Varsity Wildkats had trouble keeping up with Mississinewa in a 12-6 loss on Wednesday. Mississinewa opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two singles. Mississinewa first got on the board when J Miller singled, scoring one run. A single by L Greer extended the Mississinewa lead to 6-0 in the top of the third inning. Emma Lees stepped in the circle first for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The starting pitcher surrendered 16 hits and 12 runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking one. Greer started the game for Mississinewa. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and five runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking two. Lucy Goad provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Kokomo Varsity Wildkats with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Kinley Martin and Goad were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats while hitting back-to-back. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats turned one double play in the game.
