Varsity vs Northwestern Kokomo Varsity Wildkats beat Northwestern 6-4 on Friday. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats were the first to get on the board in the first when Amirah Marciniak grounded out, scoring one run. A fielder's choice by Grace Fischer gave Northwestern the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the third when Lanaya Buckner homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Marciniak singled, scoring one run. Lucy Goad earned the win for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The pitcher gave up two hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Bailey Marcus took the loss for Northwestern. The pitcher went two innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking none. Emma Lees appeared in relief for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats collected 11 hits in the game. Marciniak drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kokomo Varsity Wildkats with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day.
