Varsity vs McCutcheon Kokomo Varsity Wildkats Defeated By McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks By GameChanger Media Kokomo Varsity Wildkats could not keep pace with McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks 7-3 on Wednesday. Kokomo Varsity Wildkats opened the scoring in the first after Lanaya Buckner singled, scoring one run. McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the second when Sydney Osborn singled, scoring one run, and Haley Peterson doubled, scoring two runs. McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Kaidynn Peckinpaugh and Kacie Nading. Peterson earned the win for McCutcheon Varsity Mavericks. The starter allowed nine hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking none. Emma Lees took the loss for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits, striking out three and walking one. Spencer Martin and Kinley Martin each collected two hits for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats. Buckner, Hattie Tweed, and Lucy Goad each drove in one run for Kokomo Varsity Wildkats.
