Varsity vs Muncie Central Our Kats defeated Muncie Central 15-4 on Wednesday thanks in part to 10 runs in the third inning. Miles Cunningham singled, scoring two runs, Eli Roe drew a walk, scoring one run, Jordyn Gillespie singled, scoring two runs, Ethan Merrell singled, scoring one run, Isaac Flamino doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Cunningham hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. The Kats captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second after Harry Blake hit a sacrifice fly, and Gillespie was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run. Brighton Harris earned the win for the Kats. The pitcher surrendered four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Landon Gibson appeared in relief. The Kats collected nine hits in the game. Gillespie drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kokomo with four runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Flamino, Gillespie, and Merrell each collected two hits for Kokomo. Kokomo had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Logan Dockemeyer and Roe led the team with two free passes each. Kokomo ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. Next up for Kats is a game at Lewis Cass on Friday.
