The Lady Kats finished the season with a 16-8 record, which is the best in over a decade (2009-2010) and 4-1 in conference to finish second. On Friday night, Kokomo competed against #18 McCutcheon where they were a 26 point underdog going into the game. The Lady Kats showed quickly that wasn’t going to be their fate and had a lead at the end of the first quarter 13-12. At halftime, it was even 24-24 led by Jhordyn Brown’s 8 point quarter. In the third quarter, the Mavericks took the biggest lead of the game, which was 7 to head into the fourth, but the Lady Kats battled back within 2. Sadly, McCutcheon’s offensive rebounding attack led to them winning 54-48 and ending the Lady Kats season. Kokomo wants to thank their three seniors: Aviannah Pollard, Ma’Kaela Drake and Regan McClain for their dedication, leadership and focus the last 4 years. These seniors won 58 games in their career, which included 3 15-win seasons. Friday night, the Lady Kats were led by sophomore, Satyra Scott, with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Ma’Kaela Drake added 11 points and Jhordyn Brown added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Amara Stroman contributed 6 points on two big threes and Aviannah Pollard added 3 points and 2 assists. Thank you for all the support this season and the future is bright for Lady Kat basketball. GO KATS. -coach Haley peckinpaugh
