Kokomo Athletics

Nine Kokomo High School wrestlers have punched their tickets to Regionals after strong performances at the Sectional tournament. Kokomo continues to build momentum as they head into the next stage, Regionals at Peru High School this Saturday. As a team the Wildkats finished 2nd behind Oak Hill in a close tournament. With Regionals on the horizon, the Wildkats are focused on fine-tuning their skills and preparing for tougher competition. The stakes are higher, but this group has shown resilience and the ability to rise to the occasion. Monday we will practice and watch film on our opponents. Advancing are Sal Alsadiq, X’Avion Ford, Christien Damewood, Gabe Newland, Aiden Castillo, David Conner, Devon Rush, Derrick Ross and Jedaiah Beard. Senior Gabe Newland was the lone Champion, getting a last second takedown to win his match against western in the finals. He will face a 4th place finisher from the Peru Sectional.
