Varsity vs Western High School (50 - 133) Loss Thursday night the Katfish hosted the Western Panthers in the boys final dual meet of the season. Despite pushing themselves in their third meet in four days, the Katfish fell to the 3-time Hoosier Conference Champion Panthers 133-50. We had some good swims for being pretty worn out and more importantly we had fun competing again our county rival. The contest began in an unusual fashion, lead by senior Katfish Isaac Flamino & his Medley Relay of Hayden Moore, Andre Gomez, and Oliver Taskey; who showcased their unorthodox relay exchanges (front-flips, cannon balls, etc.) while diving into the pool… complete with neon-colored tutus. Ethan Lytle had the swim of his life in the 100 Backstroke, Andre Gomez & Jesse Cummings competed in their first 500 Freestyle, and Carter McClain snagged a second place finish in the 100 Backstroke. There’s still a ton of work to be done in the pool prior to sectionals, but these boys have earned a little rest! The Katfish boys will be back in action Thursday, February 20 at Carmel High School for Boys Sectional Prelims. Go Katfish! -Coach Whiteman
