Varsity vs Cass (84 - 91) Loss Monday night the Katfish hosted the Lewis Cass Kings at our senior night swim meet. The Katfish came out strong, hoping to change the outcome of last season’s nail-biting loss to the Kings. We had excellent swims all around and placed first in 10/11 swimming events, but depth (and/or diving) would prove to be the difference as the Katfish fell to the Kings 91 - 84. First place finishes include: Quadruple winners include: Milla Hawkins (200 Medley Relay, 200 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free Relay), Aubrey Simmons (200 Medley Relay, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 200 Free Relay), Morgan Rakestraw (200 Medley Relay, 50 Free, 100 Fly, 400 Free Relay). Triple winner Alyssa Frederick (500 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay). Double winners include: Maddie Armstrong (200 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay) and Bethany Burns (200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay). We knew going into this meet that it was going to be a dog fight! Lewis Cass is a good team and has some depth, in addition to two divers… we knew we’d be down 10 points from the start but the Katfish persevered. Our ladies raced their hearts out, unfortunately we simply don’t have the numbers on our side. Regardless, exciting meets like this are what swimming is all about, the energy is unlike anything else. We take away tons of positives but still have some work to do before sectionals. A lot of things to be excited about, I’m proud of their performance tonight!Great job seniors, Milla & Aubrey!
