Varsity vs Northwestern (69 - 105) Loss Monday night the Katfish traveled to compete against their cross-county rival, Northwestern Tigers. Excited and ready to race, the Katfish came out with energy but experience & depth would prove to be the difference, as the Katfish fell to the Tigers 105 - 69. First place finishes include: 200 Medley Relay (Oliver Taskey, Isaac Flamino, Tae Ow Kanayama, Kyrii Minor-Thornton), and Double-Winner Tae Ow Kanayama (100 Fly). Our guys were out-matched by a team of experienced swimmers, plain and simple. This Northwestern squad has some depth and can compete well. We had some great races that came down to the wire in the 50 Free, 200 Free Relay, and the 100 Breaststroke, but were ultimately out-touched at the wall. All in all, we had some great swims last night; Kyrii Minor-Thornton dropped a ton of time & set a new PR in the 500 Free, Oliver Taskey had a solid swim in the 100 Fly, and Yusei Tsuchiya posted exceptional times in the exhibition 50 & 100 Free. I’m eager to see how our team responds heading into winter break. The next few weeks are going to be pivotal in our success at sectionals in February. Katfish are back in action Saturday, at home to compete against Rochester & Logansport in a double-dual meet. Go Katfish! - Coach Whiteman
