Varsity vs Marion (92 - 56) Win Wednesday night the Katfish travel to compete against their conference rival Marion Giants. Our team came out fired up & ready to swim, beating the Giants 92-56. First place finishes include: Our relays set the tone for the whole night, securing first place in all three races… 200 Medley Relay (Milla Hawkins, Maria Travisi Capuci, Maddie Armstrong, Bethany Burns), 200 Free Relay (Morgan Rakestraw, Maria Travisi Capuci, Alyssa Frederick, Milla Hawkins), and the 400 Free Relay (Bethany Burns, Maddie Armstrong, Alyssa Frederick, Morgan Rakestraw). Individually, we were led by quadruple winners include Milla Hawkins (50 Free, 100 Breaststroke), Morgan Rakestraw (100 Fly, 100 Back), Alyssa Frederick (200 Free, 500 Free); Triple winners Maddie Armstrong (200 IM), Maria Travisi Capuci (100 Free); and Double winner Bethany Burns in two relays. Additionally, Giyanna Thornton did a fantastic job in her first 500 Freestyle last night! To keep it simple, this team is fun to watch compete. We’re really starting to buy in and push ourselves at practice… our time drops are evidence we’re headed in the right direction!
