The boys wrestling squad had their first home action Wednesday night as they took on the Marion Giants. Winning for the Kats and claiming his 100th Victory was Senior Gabe Newland (144 pounds). Also for the Kats, David Conner (157 pounds), Sebastian Klueh (215), Jedaiah Beard (285), Sal Alsadiq (106), Christien Dame-wood (138) and Joelle Nieto (150) scored pins. Brixton Morris (190) won 6-4, Waylon Mossholder (113) won 19-8, and X'Avion Ford (132) won 10-1. "We wrestled OK," Bough said. "There were a couple matches we should have won and it wouldn't have been as close as it was, but hat's off to Marion and head coach Lonnie Johnson. He's doing some good things over there. He's got some studs too. There were some matches we probably shouldn't have won and we did and that just comes from grit, just being tough and fighting through, so I'm very pleased with that. The guys are starting to figure out that hard work pays off. Last year we loss a close one to Marion and I have been talking about it since Saturdays buss ride home from the Region. We have had a decent couple of practices and it paid off with a home victory. The boys wrestle this Saturday at Howard County Rival Western. As always Go Kats Go! Coach Bough
