Lady Kats Place 4th at NCC

By Jordan Ousley | Oct 5, 2024 7:29 PM

On Saturday the Lady Kats competed in the NCC Championships at IWU. The Kats placed 4th out of the 6 teams in the NCC. We were led by freshman Alaina Thompson, who continues to have a great debut season, as she placed 11th with a PR time of 22:35. Alaina executed her race plan well, which saw her go out a little more aggressively, but it worked well for her as she set a PR and also ran a great race. After Alaina for the Kats we had Morgan Rakestraw, Gretchen Riggle, Christina Durham, Allaina Helmeberger, & Claire Callane come in for our varsity Kats. All these ladies overall did a nice job racing and are contributing to our team score being better each week. We now have a week off of racing before sectionals to rest and heal up, as well as fine tune ourselves as the IHSAA tournament begins in a couple weeks. After having this week off we will next race in the sectionals on October 19th at the Logansport Berry Patch. The girls have a goal to advance to regionals, so we will be working the next two weeks, so we are ready to race at sectionals. Go Kats! Coach Ousley
