The Lady Kats wrapped up their regular season with a hard-fought 2-2 draw against the Maconaquah Lady Braves. Despite controlling possession for most of the match and showcasing solid tactical play, a couple of swift transitions by the Lady Braves proved costly. Injuries continue to plague the Lady Kats, forcing several players into new roles, but everyone who took the field gave it their all. Goalkeeper Aiyana Cox stood out with stellar saves, while the defense held firm against Maconaquah's speedy offense. On the attack, Layla Brehm was relentless upfront, while Iris Brehm, Gisella Herrera, and Jimena Mier dominated the midfield, distributing the ball well. Iris Brehm struck early, scoring within the first 10 minutes with an unstoppable shot from outside the 18-yard box. She netted her second goal late in the game, with just 11 minutes remaining, to secure the tie. The Lady Kats will now take a much-needed break before heading into sectional play on Thursday at 7 pm at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette.
