On Saturday the Wildkats raced in the Culver Academies Invitational. The Kats placed 12th out of 27 schools, which is a improvement from last year, when we placed 23rd. The Kats have shown growth all season, but at Culver it was very evident. Cooper Cage led the Kats as placed top 20 in the race with a 16th place finish which earned him a medal. Cooper ran a great race, as he didn't go out to fast at the start and instead picked off several runners throughout that allowed him to earn his top 20 placing. Following Cooper were teammates Preston Arreola, Connor Frederick, Ben Wallace, Reece Wright, Leo Serra, & Gabe Newland. All of these guys ran a good race and contributed to the Kats 12th place finish. I am happy with where the guys are, as we get set for conference and sectional races coming up. We still have things to work on, but we are on the right track. The Kats will be in action next Saturday as we will be competing the NCC championships at IWU. There will be six teams competing for the conference and all six are all capable of doing well. We will have to come out ready to race on Saturday, as it will be very competitive from the go. We hope to see some Wildkat fans cheering on our team next weekend. Go Kats! Coach Ousley
