Lady Kats Race at Culver Academies

By Jordan Ousley | Sep 29, 2024 10:23 AM

On Saturday the Lady Kats raced in the Culver Invitational. The Kats overall raced well and placed 22nd out of 25 teams. This was an improvement from last year, as we finished last in the same race. The Kats raced in the big school division with some of the top teams in the state, as well as teams from Ohio and Michigan represented. Leading the way for the Kats was freshman Alaina Thompson, as she ran a time of 22:54, which is just a couple seconds off of her PR. Alaina ran a good race and worked herself up in the race, as it went on. She is continuing to improve and we are excited to see what she does in the conference meet and the IHSAA postseason. Following Alaina were teammates Morgan Rakestraw, Gretchen Riggle, Christina Durham, Allaina Helmberger, Claire Callane, & Taylor Belzer. Our girls are continuing to make improvements and we are seeing some of that on meet days. Our next meet is this Saturday as we head back to IWU to race in the NCC championship races! We hope to see some Wildkat fans there. Go Kats! Coach Ousley
