Lady Kats Race to Runner-Up Finish

On Saturday the Lady Kats raced in the Tipton Invitational. The Lady Kats were runner up, just missing winning the meet by 1 point. The race started under different circumstances as it was very foggy, which it made more memorable for the girls racing. This was a smaller meet as their were only 5 complete teams, but the point of this meet was for our runners to work on racing strategy. I am happy to say our girls from top to bottom did just that, as they stuck with other runners, as well as move up during the race to put them in position to be successful. While we had no one set a PR I am very happy with how we raced, as that will be what we must do when we enter tournament season. For the Kats Alaina Thompson led the way with a 4th place finish, followed by Morgan Rakestraw(6th), Gretchen Riggle(7th), Allaina Helmberger(11th), Christina Durham(12th), Claire Callane(18th), & Taylor Belzer(25th). These girls were able to all get medals, ribbons, as well as the runner up trophy. Very proud of our kids in their efforts on Saturday. We will race next Saturday at Culver Military Academy, as we race in the Culver Invite. Hope to see some Kat fans there! Go Kats! Coach Ousley
