Wildkats Race at Brownsburg

The Wildkats traveled to Brownsburg and raced in ideal conditions at the Brownsburg Invitational. Our guys set several personal best and raced extremely well against tough competition. We were led by Cooper Cage who placed 28th overall with a PR time of 16:18. This time gave Cooper the number 7 time all time in Kokomo history! Cooper has been returning from injury and working his way back to form, so this was the best he has looked all season. We are excited to see what is next for him, as he is racing very smart and executing his race strategy well. Next in for the Kats was Preston Arreola who ran a big PR with a time of 17:25. Preston has improved so much this season and I was glad to see him put a great race together today. Following Preston were teammates Ben Wallace who set a PR with a time of 18:03, Reece Wright with a PR time of 19:06, Leo Serra who set a PR with a time of 19:26, Gabe Newland who set a PR with a time of 19:53, and Owen Downing who also set a PR with a time of 20:35. These guys really raced well today and I am excited to see them build off of this as the season continues. Our JV squad of Ethan Lytle, Henry King-Brown, Gaius Cooper, Kadin Smail, Tyler Anderson, & Odin Salinas also set big PR's or season best times and are all starting to race very well as their season progresses. Our next opportunity to get better is next Saturday as we head to IWU to race in the Wildcat Classic. We hope to see you there cheering on our runners. Go Kats!! Coach Ousley
