Varsity vs Hamilton Heights High School (16 - 6) Win Our Kats blast by Hamilton Heights last night in 5 short innings. Brighton Harris started on the mound and kept the Kats in the game with accurate pitching lasting 4.1 innings. Miles Cunningham came in to get the last two outs of the game. Offensively it was a very wild night from the get go. Down by three runs early, the Kats had scored one run in the bottom of the second and had the bases loaded. Cameron Parks was on third base, Chad Washburn on second base, and Jude Rivers was on first base. With two outs and the bases loaded, JJ Gillespie gets to full count. The payoff pitch was a wild pitch with the runners already moving, Parks had a free pass at home plate where Washburn being alert to the situation rounded third and scored under the throw. The ball was then bobbled and thrown towards a baserunner and bobbled where RIvers scored. Attempting to throw the ball home towards Rivers, the ball was bobbled again and GIllespie was able to round third and score. The overall outcome of this havoc was Gillespie making it around the base paths on a second inning walk putting the cats up 5-3. The Kats stayed up for good with Logan Dockemeyer, Brighton Harris, and Dalton Dixon leading the team with two hits a piece. Chad Washburn, Jude Rivers, Harry Blake, Logan Dockemeyer, and Cameron Parks all scored mutiple runs in the game with Washburn and Rivers scoring three times each. Washburn, Gillespie, and Harris all had two RBI's each. Washburn, RIvers, Dixon, and Blake had stolen bases. Dockemeyer had the only extra base hit of the night with a double to center field. The best two stats of the night were that the Kats only struck out one time and it was very late in the game, and the Kats only had one error in the field which ended up being insignificant. The Kats play @ Harrison Wednesday night.
