Varsity vs Huntington North (8 - 7) Win Our Kats split the series with Huntington North Saturday. In Game 1 we used five different pitchers with Jude Rivers finally closing the deal with the win thanks to a Chad Washburn walk off single! Offensively we hit the ball well with Chad Washburn and Cameron Parks leading the team with two hits a piece. Gillespie, Flamino, and Roe also chipped in with a hit a piece. Extra base hits were the norm for the day with Gillespie legging out a triple while Parks and Roe each had a double. Washburn crossed home plate three times in the ball game. In Game 2, the outcome was opposite with Huntington North coming back after being down twice in the ball game. Miles Cunningham got his first varsity start on the mound and kept the Kats in the ballgame for five innings, unfortunately we were not able to hang on. Offensively we hit the ball well with 7 of 9 players getting a base hit. Cameron Parks led the team with 2 hits, one being a triple. Gillespie had one hit on the day, a home run. Flamino and Merrell both had doubles in the game. Flamino led the team with runs scored, scoring two times. Once again, Washburn led the team in stolen bases, stealing two bases.
