Kokomo Boys Track and Field competed at the 73rd Marion Relays, hosted at Marion Highschool. The Kats put out some good performances, and an even better effort. As a coach I was proud of their resilience through injury, sickness, and getting back into the swing of things post Spring break. Despite placement today, the boys are looking fast and mentally are in a place I could only wish for! They are determined, confident, and are ready for whatever comes their way once they’re on the line! Individual races: 100m Dash: Rondell G (10th), Lukas D. (12th) 110H: Jamaree McClinton (5th), Jayden F. (9th) 1600m: Cooper Cage (7th), Preston A. (14th) Relays: Led by our 4x100 relay, whom medaled and PR’d, our guys put out great efforts against some good relay competition! 4x100 (2nd): Tracy D., Malachi H., Lukas D., Rondell G. 4x400 (6th): Jamaree M., Rondell G., Lukas D., Malachi H. 4000m DMR (8th): Braxton F., Micah T., Trevor N., Ben Wallace 800m SMR (7th): Marcus H., Malachi H., Tracy D., Omar D. 4x800 (8th): Micah T., Trevor N., Braxton F., Ben Wallace Field: Led by Jedaiah Beard placing 5th in both shot put, and discus. Marcus Noy placed 8th in discus with a PR! Chance Duncan placed 9th in shot put! Battling injury, our high jumpers are off to a great start with Eric Thomas clearing 5-8, and some great attempts at 5-10, placing 8th. Derrick Ross was right behind him in 9th place, clearing 5-6. Derrick is also off to a great start in long jump, placing 8th! We’re hoping to recover from injury, get a little more conditioning under our belts, and move right along with the rest of the season!
