Lady Kats finished tied for 7th at Marion Relays

Saturday afternoon the Lady Kats finished tied for 7th in Marion Relays. Team scores were as follows: 156 Homestead 92.5 Mt. Vernon 73.5 Huntington North 58.5 South Bend Adams 42 Richmond 40.5 Yorktown 36 Kokomo 36 Marion 11 Muncie Central The Lady Kats were led by two medalist, Tia Williams and Abrashia Moore. Tia placed 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 15' 3.25". Abrashia Moore placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.25. Other individual results are as follows: Gabrielle Flowers 5th High Jump 4' 8" Ma'Kaela Young-Drake 6th 100 meter dash 13.33 Abrashia Moore 7th Long Jump 14' 2.5" Relay Results: Sprint Medley Relay: 4th, Abrashia Moore, Ma'Kaela Young-Drake, Mia Castillo, Tia Williams 1:59.12 4x100 Relay: 6th, Mia Castillo, Tia Williams, Abrashia Moore, Ma'Kaela Young-Drake 53.59 4x400 Relay: 7th, Janae Young, Mia Castillo, Akiera Huntsman, Tia Williams Distance Medley Relay: 8th, Patience Rowles, Morgan Rakestraw, Gretchen Riggle, Christina Durham 16.29.23 Other Performances: 1600 Meter Run: Gretchen Riggle, 17th 6:40.29 PR Christina Durham, 18th 7:32.93 Shot Put: Felicia Ekola, 11th 26' 5" Layla Ferraro, 12th 24' 4" Discus: Felicia Ekola, 9th 69' 6" PR Layla Ferraro, 15th 55' 1.5" Our ladies gave 100% and were a little disappointed in their performances. It is so normal to not meet your own expectations every time, but to get back up and compete again exemplifies character. This team has a lot of character and we will bounce back in our dual with Logansport at home on Wednesday. We will recognize our seniors!!! Coach Malone
