Varsity vs Lafayette Jeff. (7 - 3) Win Our guys packed their brooms on a road trip to Lafayette Jeff bringing home the win by a score of 7-3, securing their first conference series of the season. Dalton Dixon was a beast on the mound lasting 8 innings striking out 8 and only walking 1! Our defense was strong behind him making every play look routine. Ethan Merrell had the ball hit his way multiple times early in the game and was able to make every play look text book. Offensively we were able to piece five hits together from Rivers, Washburn, Dixon, Harris, and Williams. Going into extra innings the excitement came in the top of the ninth inning. Dalton Dixon was able to double on a hard hit ball down the left field line. Brighton Harris stayed in the box and was hit by a pitch. With two on and one out, birthday boy Drew Williams got the call to pinch hit. Drew hit a nice ball that dropped into right field loading the bases. Chad Washburn came to the plate with the hopes to score a run or two and smoked a ball that traveled to the wall in right and the race was on. Everyone crossed the plate to allow a GRAND SLAM in the box score! Logan Dockemeyer came in the 9th to slam the door. Kats are hot and filled with camaraderie and momentum on this 3-1 start.
