The Kokomo High School Wrestling Team showcased their prowess at the IHSAA Peru Regional, securing an impressive 5th-place finish. The team's standout performance was led by Senior Jalen May, who clinched the 113lb title, demonstrating skill and determination on the mat. May's triumph set a high standard for the team and reflected his dedication to the sport. Also contributing to the team's success, Sophomore David Conner displayed remarkable strength and skill, finishing with a solid 2nd place finish in his weight class. Senior Chad Washburn's tenacity earned him a respectable 3rd place, while Junior Gabe Newland's efforts culminated in a commendable 4th place finish. The collective achievements of these athletes underscored the Kokomo High School Wrestling Team's commitment to excellence and teamwork, leaving a lasting mark on the IHSAA Peru Regional. The Wildkat Wrestling Team will now travel to Ft. Wayne, Indiana this Saturday to compete in the IHSAA Semi State Championships. The wrestlers will need to win their first two matches in hopes of advancing to the IHSAA State Championships.
