The Lady Kats came up short in the sectional semi-final to McCutcheon 33-36 to end our season 15-10 and third in the conference. The first half was even all the way around and we went into halftime down by 1. In the third quarter, the Lady Kats played some of the best basketball that had been played all year. We held McCutcheon scoreless in the third and held a 10 point lead going into the fourth. The fourth quarter was challenging as we couldn’t seem to put the ball in the basket and McCutcheon found their way back into the game. The Lady Kats fought the entire 32 minutes and played their hearts out until the end. The 6 seniors that ended their career Friday night had all played for the Lady Kats all 4 years and ended with a record of 51-40. They all will be greatly missed and we are so thankful for their dedication to this program to help turn it around. Aijia Elliott led all scorers Friday with 18 points. She played all 32 minutes and had 3 blocks to add to that stat line as well as 4 rebounds. Ma’Kaela Drake added 5 points and 2 steals. Amara Stroman contributed 4 points, 6 steals and 4 assists. It was a great season for the Lady Kats and a great career for the seniors. GO KATS. -coach Haley peckinpaugh
