Varsity vs Marion (96 - 67) Win Wednesday night the Katfish hosted the conference rivals Marion Giants. Our whole squad came out fired up, ready to swim, and ultimately took care of business beating the Giants 96-67. First place finishes include: Quadruple winners Talon Hawkins (200 IM, 500 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay), Isaac Flamino (200 Medley Relay, 50 Free, 100 Fly, 200 Free Relay); Triple winner Oliver Taskey (200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, 100 Breaststroke); Double winners Hayden Moore (200 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay), Bryce Brassard (200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay); and Rylan Early & Ethan Lytle as part of the 400 Free Relay team. The boys swam very well, especially considering how young they are - for most, this was their third swim meet ever. It’s great to see our vets get out there and do their thing, while having fun with so many rookie swimmers. This team has energy and you’re never quite sure what you’re going to get, tonight was a bit of Hayden Moore & Rylan Early coming down to the wire for second place in the 100 backstroke, our whole team erupting when Oliver Taskey touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke, the look of satisfaction from Ethan Lytle after completing his first 500 Freestyle, and Talon Hawkins dancing on the starting block awaiting his turn in the 400 Free Relay. Can’t wait to see what the rest of this season has in store for us. Katfish are back on the road Saturday, headed to Hamilton Heights for the Husky Invite. Go Katfish! Coach Whiteman
