Total TEAM victory. Micah fought an all state, undefeated opponent and #2 dubs really were in every game. They will both bounce back and be ready tomorrow. The player of the day was Mitch McClelland. He is just overwhelming his opponents lately and carved up another tonight. He is in total control of his matches and playing outstanding. Mateus played his strongest mental match of the year. Steady, gritty, resilient and patient. He has saved his best for last and he is focused every point! The match of the night though was Jo and Austin. I'm estatic that they were the final point. They are so deserving and have both worked hard to improve every year. Both teams played exceptional and they had to go out and take the victory. There were so many ups and downs. We had a great chance to win in straight sets, but lost in a tiebreaker. They rebounded, stayed together and built a 3rd set lead. Just haymaker after haymaker. We had lots of match points and saved lots of game points from West Lafayette. Austin was injured and playing on one leg, and never backed down. Jo ripped the ball all night. It was pure elation as they won the deciding point after 3 hours of being on the court! This win sums up who this team is. It also set the school record for most wins in a season with 22. I hope we have a great crowd tomorrow at 5pm at Harrison. Seeger is a quality opponent and we need all hands on deck.
