Berries Pounce on Wildkats, Win 3-1 The Kokomo Wildcats closed out the regular season with a visit to the Logansport Berries. The Kats competed very well box to box on the day but conceded the first goal off an error in front of their own goal in the seventh minute. From there, they played a solid first half, getting good looks at the goal, decent crosses into the box, and shutting down most of the Logansport attack. They were unable to find the equalizer and conceded a second Berry goal with just under three minutes to play when a Logansport midfielder slotted the ball through the KAT defense to a forward who tucked the second goal in. In the second half, the Kats had less of the ball, and Logansport generated more shots, but senior keeper Ethan Landrum, sophomore center back Rodrigo Camino, and senior wide backs Grant Gibson and Lucas Araujo Borges dealt with the chances. With less than 10 minutes left in the 2nd half, the Kats equalized when senior midfielder Simone Bacchani put a rebound shot in the net to cut the lead in half. Unfortunately, moments later, Logansport scored on a breakaway to make the final score, 3-1. Your man of the match is senior goalkeeper Ethan Landrum. The Wildkats conclude their regular season and will open sectional play on Thursday at McCutcheon High School versus the Lebanon Tigers.
