On Saturday the Lady Kats raced in the NCC championships and placed 4th overall. For the second year in a row junior Alaina Thompson received all-conference honors as she placed 3rd overall. Despite having an off race Alaina still was to place well and lead our team. Following her was teammate Izzy Riggs who tied her PR with a time of 23:03 and who placed 13th. Teammates Maggie Weber(24:27) & Allaina Helmberger(24:56) were next with season best times and in Allainas case it was a big PR for her. Alice Cooper(25:45) & Naomi Black(26:20) also set big PR's for the Kats and Bethany Burns rounded out our top 7. The girls did a nice job competing overall and now will focus on the upcoming sectional. We race next in two weeks in the Logansport sectional and will be working hard to try to either qualify as a team or to qualify individuals. Wish the girls luck when you see them these next couple weeks. Go Kats! Coach Ousley
