Kokomo Beats Western 4-1 Micah Taflinger, W 6-1,  6-0 Mateus Boechat Luppi Ruiz, W 6-0, 6-0 Mitch McClelland,  W 6-0, 6-0 Josiyah Mayfield/Austin Moos,  W 6-2, 6-2 Carter McClain/Oliver Taskey, L 7-6 (1), 6-0 Great week for the Kats on the tennis courts! Last year was a dramatic one, this one was a lot easier on my heart. It was over in 40 minutes. Our singles guys just dominated all night! Micah can say he is the top player in the county. Mateus put on a show and was brilliant all match. Mitch wanted this so bad, and stayed on the gas until the very end. He was so locked in. It was great to have #1 doubles win too, proving they are just at another level right now. Jo is so powerful and skilled and then Austin is a great athlete and plays like a warrior. They are really clicking. Our #2 doubles team was playing so well and just couldn't quite convert that 1st set. They will bounce back and have improved so much this year.  We have some work to do to get ready for West Lafayette next Thursday. That was a tremendous match last month that could have gone any direction. All five points were tight, lots of third sets, and we pulled it out 3-2. They are well coached and I know they are going to show up and battle. It will be fun!
