On Saturday the Lady Kats raced to a 11th place finish in the sectionals. While we did not advance to the regional as a team, we will still be represented due to Gretchen Riggle qualifying as an individual. Gretchen ran a smart race to punch her ticket to the regional. She was in position all race, but the last 400 meters determined her fate as she held off two girls to secure her spot. Gretchen also set a PR in the process running a time of 24:31. She has come so far in just one years time and has earned her spot in the regional. The sectional ends our season as a team, but we will return all the girls next season. This was the first season of running cross-country for the rest of our team, so we are excited to see their improvement over the next year. Sophomores Claire Callane, Morgan Rakestraw, Christina Durham, Maddie Armstrong, Grace Lake, & Leo de Bettignies have improved so much since they started running this summer. I have high hopes for this group over the next couple years! We will be traveling to Brownsburg on Saturday to cheer on Gretchen as she races in the regional at 11:15am! Go Kats!! Coach Ousley
