The Wildkats raced in the Logansport sectional on Saturday and placed 9th out of 15 teams. Cooper Cage led the Kats with a 7th place individual finish and punched his ticket to the Brownsburg regional next Saturday morning. Cooper ran a conservative and smart race before kicking it in at the finish to run a time of 17:11. The rest of the Kats competed and raced well, but just fell short of qualifying for regionals. Junior Connor Frederick was next in for the Kats as he finished in a time of 19:01, but fell a heartbreaking one spot shy of advancing to next week. Connor has had a tremendous season and has improved leaps and bounds this year, but thankfully he has one more year to rebound from this set back. The sectional ends our season as a team, but we will return the whole varsity line up next year, so we are looking forward to being back and being better next season. This Saturday we will travel to Brownsburg as Cooper will be racing in the regional for a shot to advance to the state meet! Wish Cooper luck if you see him this week. Go Kats!! Coach Ousley
