In a Game of Moments, Oak Hill has More of Them The Kats had moments. They looked to be the better side to open the game, pressing Oak Hill into errors and connecting short passes. As the Wildkats moved the ball around the pitch, the Golden Eagles had few opportunities. Unfortunately, as in the previous match, Kokomo conceded corner kicks and an unmarked Oak Hill attacker knocked home the first goal for an 0-1 deficit. Later in the first half, Oak Hill handled the ball resulting in a penalty kick. Senior midfielder Gael Cordero’s shot was stopped, and Oak Hill maintained their lead. Towards the end of the first half, Junior midfielder and co-captain Andy McConnell’s free kick was redirected into the goal by Senior outside back Lucas Araujo Borges. Tied 1-1 at the half, the Kats were very much in the match. However, in the second half the Kokomo created less chances, and Oak Hill gained momentum, scoring two goals to seal the victory and leave the Wildkats winless on the season. Your man of the match is Senior defender Simone Bacchiani. In the Junior Varstiy match, the Kats started well but conceded a goal off a free kick to go down 1-0. After conceding the 1-0 lead, the JV team settled in and pressed Oak Hill into their own half, created many chances, and dominated the half. The Wildkats flexed their muscle and went up 3-1 at the half behind goals by Junior Kingston Johnson and Freshman Michael Vasquez (2). Junior Varsity is off to a great start and remains undefeated on the season. They are 3-0-0! The Wildkats visit Hamilton Heights Thursday this week before hosting conference foe Richmond on Saturday.
