On Saturday the Wildkats raced in the competitive Jacob Graf Invite at Logansport. This race is challenging due to the course, as well as we race against the sectional field and a key conference opponent. The Kats placed 6th out of 18 teams, as we ran as a pack in our first 5k competition of the year. Our spread from our first guy in to our 5th man in was 32 seconds. We were led by junior Reece Wright who came in 22nd overall with a time of 18:41, followed by sophomore Monte Bunn who finished in a time of 18:47, which is a 44 second PR for Monte! Teammate Leo Serra, Arthur Andrade, & Joelle Nieto all came within 10 seconds of each other with Owen Downing being our 6th man coming 20 seconds later. Right now we do not have a dominant number one runner, with all of our guys so close to one another, so we are working on our strengths and one of those is working together as a team in the race. The boys work well together and use each other to push themselves. We will continue to do this, as well as implement other things in the coming races, but we are happy with how Saturday went overall. We race again this upcoming Saturday in the Taylor University Invite at 9am. Go Kats!! Coach Ousley
