The Lady Kats showed flashes of early brilliance on the road against Oak Hill, setting a strong tone before ultimately falling to a sharp host team. While the match slipped away as the afternoon progressed, the performance highlighted individual growth and a team working hard to build chemistry on the pitch. The Lady Kats opened the match with sharp energy, organizing well and holding their ground against an aggressive Oak Hill attack. The clear highlight of the day came from defender Ashley Corrales, who delivered a spectacular defensive performance. Corrales completely neutralized Oak Hill’s leading scorer, executing tight, physical marking and frustrating the host team's top threat all afternoon. Anchoring the defense was Izzy Riggs, who stepped up as the vocal leader on the field, organizing the backline and making crucial stops to break up dangerous charges. Rain began to fall toward the end of the match, but the Lady Kats continued to fight for every ball as Oak Hill pulled ahead late. Dania Blanchet and Mattie Rayl put in a strong shift in the center of the pitch, battling hard for fifty-fifty balls and keeping the team connected under heavy pressure. Keeper Emmalynn Birnell stepped into the varsity spotlight for the first time and delivered a courageous 7-save performance in the net, turning away high-caliber shots and proving her readiness for the top level. Though the final result wasn't what the team wanted, the match served as another important stepping stone. As the Lady Kats navigate the season, they continue to focus on building chemistry, learning to trust each other, and playing for one another through every minute on the field. The Lady Kats will look to put those lessons into practice when they hit the road again next week to take on Marion.
