The Lady Wildkats had a good start to their season as they raced in the Northwestern 3k and placed 3rd as a team out of 6 teams. The Kats were led by junior Alaina Thompson who won the race with a time of 11:48, which is a PR from her last time running a 3k. Alaina led virtually the entire race and paced herself well to stay in control and keep the runner up at bay. Fellow junior and new runner to the team Izzy Riggs placed 10th overall with a time of 13:58. Izzy ran well in her first cross-country race and we look forward to her continued growth. Our other runners included Bethany Burns, Allaina Helmberger, Naomi Black, Makyila Rubush, Alice Cooper, Emmie Sargent, & Addie Wright. All the girls overall had a good night and we will now focus on getting ready for Saturday, as we run the Jacob Graf Invite at Logansport. Go Kats! Coach Ousley
