It was a Full moon and full shutout for the Lady Kats Soccer Team as they played their final home game of the regular season against Maconaquah with a 4-0 victory, continuing our three-game winning streak. We started the night honoring our local girls' travel teams in our third annual Youth Night. This is an important night to honor and celebrate our future Kats. Overall, we had our best passing and possession game for the Lady Kats yet! Their hard work is paying off. Poise, toughness, and determination was the script for tonight. Plenty of chances didn't appear on the scoreboard, but the effort was there. We scored on a corner kick and crashed the goal on multiple occasions. Iris Brehm scored in the 14th minute with a hard-fought goal. Nancy Laughner scored in the 30th minute from the top of the 18 off a corner kick from Darriuna Kirby. Ellen Callane scored in the 34th minute after a great possession and sequence of passes by the entire offense. Iris Brehm found the net in the 66th minute with her second goal of the contest. Layla Brehm was a massive contributor to the goals tonight, as she helped keep possession and created scorning opportunities for others. Our defense came to play as well. Maddie Carpenter had a shutout in goal. Darriuna Kirby, Riley Rudolph, and Laikyn McDorman dominated the defense. Freshman Gisella Herrera and Elaina Gibson shut down the middle with their aggressive play and skilled passing. Analis Fuentes and Indiria Faison impacted the game both offensively and defensively on the outside. It was a complete team effort as many players came off the bench and contributed greatly to the win. Lady Kats showed they have what it takes and are getting hot at the right time! We will keep the momentum going as we travel to Anderson on Saturday morning and into sectionals next week. Let's go, Lady Kats.
